Ability FAQ/Opt Out post
Here are some general stats before we get into her more unusual traits:
Age: 16
Height: 163 cm (about 5'4"); (b/w/h) 34-22-34
Weight: 101 lbs
Training: Level 3 black belt in Karate and Aikido and Level 4 black belt in Judo, so she is a super fit martial artist.
Abilities: Running speed - 100 m/11.6 seconds
cycling speed - 60 km/hr
lifts 120 kg (264.55 lbs)
She can do serious damage to a wall or car with her fists and there is a pic of her as a 5 year old taking down a tiger.
Yeah.

A tiger.
How does it work?
In Sakura's world, one's vitality or life force (chi or what have you) is the source of one's special powers, even supernatural ones. Sakura is a "Rare-type," someone with the genetic ability to purify or destroy this energy.
Purification
Physical contact with a person using a special power will halt their ability to use it completely. A ranged attack or something influenced by an ability (ex: propelled by super-powers) will lose effectiveness when it touches her. However, this doesn't stop ordinary physics.
Scenario I: Opponent fires a flamethrower at her. She roasts to death, like any other human.
Scenario II: Opponent casts a magic fireball at her. She will not be burned, but her clothes will.
Scenario III: Opponent uses an ability to push a brick wall at her. We'll call the cumulative push "F." In this instance:
F = (mass of wall)(acceleration) + Additional magical force
Sakura can cancel out the magical push, but if there's enough mass and acceleration, she'll get crushed to death.
Self-protection via her ability is innate and doesn't lead to the effects of over-use. However, a conscious decision to reverse abilities eventually will.
Destruction
This is only triggered by catastrophic levels of trauma/despair.
In this state, Sakura reverts to her original personality, completely unaware of concepts like the difference between good and evil or the value of life and indiscriminate of who she sucks the life force out of until they eventually die. She's like a child who innocently kills bugs because they don't know any better, except that the bugs are you.
It should be noted that a life force drain is not permanent: If Sakura is stopped before a target dies, they can make a full recovery with food and rest, etc. Provided that they can get that close, a hug will bring her back to her default state.
What happens if she overdoes it, and how is that reversed?
It takes something like Nullifying all the power in a room (after) to do it, but when it happens, she shrinks down to doll size and loses her ability to negate power. The only thing that reverses this is "rare-type" serum, which is synthesized from Rare-Type blood. She doesn't have this yet and will need to find medical/science-y types who can produce this for her.
So far, this only affects conscious decisions to nullify large amounts of special ability power used over a wide range. In a previous use of her powers, she removed a mind control effect on seven people with no adverse effect on herself.
While Sakura loses her powers in chapter 84 when Ogami's true power awakens, this has less to do with overexerting herself (because she didn't actually fight) and more to do with Ogami being half Rare-Type himself, which caused himself and others around him to lose power.
TWO ABILITY NEGATORS CONVERGE IN A FEELINGS MAGIC STEAMPUNK ALLEYWAY, WHAT HAPPEN???
Nothing.
Are the effects of Purification/Destruction Permanent?
Nope! If she's hugging a person with a special ability, they can go right back to using their abilities as usual if she's not touching them.
An ability's influence on another person or an object can be dispelled completely, but the influence can be reactivated by the controller.
As previously stated, even a drain in life force when Sakura is fully awakened and in Destruction Mode can be restored over time, so everything is more or less temporary.
What about abilities based in SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY?
She can't negate any of those. If she got in a fight with say, Iron Man, she'd have to rely solely on brute strength.
